Prime Video has released the official key art for the third and final season of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, confirming the popular international drama will return globally on Dec. 9, 2026.
The streaming service is positioning the final chapter as a major international release after describing Maxton Hall as the most successful international scripted original series in Prime Video history. The upcoming season will bring the story of Ruby and James to a conclusion as the pair confront new threats to their relationship and Ruby’s academic future.
Final Season of Maxton Hall Arrives December 9
The third season picks up with Ruby suspended from Maxton Hall College, placing her long-held ambition of attending Oxford in jeopardy.
Rather than abandoning that goal, Ruby joins forces with James to establish her innocence. Their search for answers, however, threatens to expose secrets and create new divisions among the people around them.
The season will explore whether their relationship can withstand those pressures as friendships are tested and previously hidden information emerges.
Prime Video has not disclosed additional details about the final episodes alongside the key art release, but the storyline sets up a decisive conclusion for the central characters.
Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung Return
Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung will return to lead the cast.
They will be joined by several returning performers, including Sonja Weißer as Lydia and Eidin Jalali as Graham. Ben Felipe returns as Cyril, while Fedja van Huêt reprises his role as Mortimer.
Runa Greiner will return as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair and Govinda Gabriel as Kesh. Andrea Guo is back as Lin, with Frederic Balonier returning as Kieran.
The ensemble also includes Eli Riccardi as Elaine and Dagny Dewath as Ophelia.
The returning cast provides continuity for the final season as the series resolves the relationships and conflicts developed during its earlier instalments.
Martin Schreier Returns to Direct Third Season
Martin Schreier will return as director for the final season.
Ceylan Yildirim, Markus Brunnemann and Eike Adler serve as executive producers, while Valentin Debler is producer.
Yildirim and Sandra Stöckmann serve as head writers for Season 3. The writing team also includes Catharina Junk, Marlene Melchior and Aylin Kockler.
The production received support from the German Motion Picture Fund, continuing the series’ connection to Germany’s film and television production sector.
The international performance of Maxton Hall has also demonstrated the growing ability of non-English-language and European productions to attract audiences beyond their domestic markets through global streaming platforms.
Prime Video Continues Push for International Streaming Audiences
The final season arrives as Prime Video continues to build its catalogue of original and licensed entertainment alongside an expanding live-sports business.
For Canadian subscribers, Prime Video’s sports offering includes NHL, NBA, WNBA and Professional Women’s Hockey League content. The service also provides access to additional streaming subscriptions through its platform, including Canadian and international services such as Crave, Sportsnet, TSN, BritBox, Paramount+, STARZ and Apple TV+.
Customers can also rent or purchase individual titles through Prime Video, while the service is included as one of the benefits available through a Prime membership.
The company specifically refers to its streaming service as Prime Video rather than Amazon Prime Video.
Final Chapter Builds on Global Success
The Dec. 9 launch will give Prime Video a high-profile international scripted release heading into the year-end streaming period.
For Maxton Hall, the third season represents both the conclusion of Ruby and James’ story and the final instalment of a series that has developed into one of Prime Video’s notable international successes.
With Herbig-Matten and Hardung returning alongside the established ensemble and Schreier once again directing, the final season will focus on whether Ruby can clear her name, preserve her Oxford ambitions and navigate the consequences of the secrets uncovered with James.
Season 3 of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us will launch globally on Prime Video on Dec. 9, 2026.
