Toronto venue to host Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ in Concert in March 2027
TORONTO — Roy Thomson Hall will celebrate the enduring popularity of the Harry Potter franchise with a live orchestral presentation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ in Concert in March 2027, as part of the global “25 Years of Magic” celebration tied to the film series.
The Toronto performances are scheduled for March 19 and March 20, 2027, featuring a live orchestra performing John Williams’ acclaimed score while the full film is screened in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. The event is part of the internationally touring Harry Potter Film Concert Series, produced by CineConcerts in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
Tickets for the performances will go on sale Friday, June 5, through Roy Thomson Hall’s box office and online platform.
Global concert series continues to draw audiences
The Harry Potter Film Concert Series launched in 2016 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in Concert and has since grown into one of the world’s largest film-and-live-orchestra touring productions.
According to organizers, more than 4.5 million fans worldwide have attended performances, with over 3,000 shows staged or scheduled across more than 48 countries.
The Toronto engagement comes as the Harry Potter franchise marks 25 years since the release of the first film adaptation, which introduced audiences to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and launched one of the entertainment industry’s most commercially successful franchises.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, audiences follow Harry Potter during his second year at Hogwarts, where mysterious attacks and warnings surrounding the reopening of the Chamber of Secrets threaten the school community. The film’s score, composed by John Williams, earned a Grammy nomination and remains one of the most recognizable orchestral soundtracks in modern cinema.
Live orchestra experience aims to deepen audience connection
CineConcerts executives said the live concert format continues to resonate with audiences because it combines film nostalgia with the atmosphere of a live symphonic performance.
Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts and Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series explains, “The Harry Potter film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. As we celebrate 25 years since audiences first discovered Hogwarts on the big screen, there is no better way to honor that legacy than experiencing this music performed live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. This is truly an unforgettable event.”
Brady Beaubien of CineConcerts and Concert Producer for the Harry Potter Film Concert Series added, “Twenty-five years later, the magic of Harry Potter continues to unite generations of fans. Performing this incredible music live with the full film allows audiences to celebrate that legacy together in a way that simply isn’t possible at home.”
The Harry Potter concert productions have become a significant part of the broader live entertainment industry, which has increasingly embraced immersive experiences that blend film, music and fan engagement.
