City says testing and monitoring continue to meet provincial standards
The City of Prince Albert has released its 2025 Drinking Water Quality and Compliance Report, confirming that the municipality continues to meet or exceed provincial drinking water standards while maintaining compliance with regulatory monitoring and sampling requirements.
The report provides residents with an overview of the City’s drinking water quality performance from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, including details on testing procedures, regulatory compliance, and operational reporting obligations tied to Saskatchewan’s water management framework.
Municipal officials said the annual disclosure is required under provincial regulations overseen by the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency and the Ministry of Environment. Waterworks owners across the province are obligated to notify consumers each year about the quality of water produced and supplied to households and businesses.

According to the City, the report also details its performance in submitting mandatory water samples in accordance with the Minister’s Order and the City’s Permit to Operate a Waterworks.

Municipal water systems in Saskatchewan are subject to oversight from both the Water Security Agency and the Ministry of Environment, with operators required to conduct routine testing for microbiological, chemical, and operational indicators.
The City said the annual notice is intended to provide transparency for residents regarding the quality and safety of the local drinking water supply, while also demonstrating compliance with provincial operational requirements.
