Rycroft, Alta. / Prince George, B.C. — Euro Auctions, a global auctioneer of construction, agricultural and industrial equipment, is expanding its Canadian operations with the acquisition of Western Canadian auction house Weaver Auctions, a move aimed at strengthening equipment sales networks across Alberta, British Columbia and the broader Canadian marketplace.
The deal integrates Weaver Auctions into Euro Auctions’ growing Canadian network of auction businesses and adds two strategically located sites in Western Canada, providing expanded reach to contractors, farmers, fleet operators and equipment dealers across the region.
Founded in Western Canada, Weaver Auctions has built a strong reputation for hosting professionally managed, large-scale unreserved auctions of construction machinery, agricultural equipment and transportation assets. The company operates two locations — one in Rycroft, Alta., and another in Prince George, B.C. — each offering more than 25 acres of yard capacity.
With the acquisition, Euro Auctions will add Weaver’s regional expertise and infrastructure to its international auction platform, which connects buyers and sellers across more than 100 countries.
Euro Auctions is the largest auctioneer of its kind in Europe and owns several auction businesses operating in Canada, including Michener Allen Auctioneering in Alberta and Manitoba, Jardine Auctioneers in Atlantic Canada, North Toronto Auction in Ontario and Coast2Coast Collector Car Auctions.
The addition of Weaver Auctions expands Euro Auctions’ Canadian network to seven sites nationwide, extending coverage from British Columbia to New Brunswick. The company says the broader network will provide Canadian consignors with greater exposure for equipment listings and access to a global buyer base through internationally marketed auctions and online bidding platforms.
For buyers and sellers of heavy equipment, the expanded network also offers increased inventory selection across sectors such as construction, agriculture, forestry, transportation and industrial machinery. Euro Auctions said coordinated national marketing and live global participation in auctions are expected to increase competition and liquidity for equipment sales.
Yvette and Jeff Weaver, co-owners of Weaver Auctions, said the acquisition positions the company for long-term growth while maintaining its regional focus.
“This transition ensures the long-term growth and strength of Weaver Auctions. By joining Euro Auctions and its established Canadian network, including Michener Allen, Jardine Auctioneers, North Toronto Auction and Coast2Coast, we become part of a nationwide platform backed by global reach. Our team remains in place, and our customers benefit from increased exposure and bidding power while retaining the local expertise they trust.”
Euro Auctions confirmed that Weaver Auctions’ experienced management team and staff will remain in place following the acquisition. The company said maintaining continuity with customers and regional partners is a key priority, with day-to-day operations continuing as usual while the integration focuses on expanding buyer access and enhancing competitive bidding.
Derek Keys of Euro Auctions said the expansion reflects the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen its presence across the Canadian equipment marketplace.
“Canada is a core market for our group. Expanding into northern Alberta and British Columbia is of strategic importance. Weaver Auctions has built an excellent reputation in the region, and their customer-focused approach aligns perfectly with ours. This acquisition strengthens our Western Canadian presence and increases opportunities for buyers and sellers across the country.”
Euro Auctions’ strategy in Canada centres on partnering with established regional auction businesses and connecting them through its international technology platform and marketing network. By combining local expertise with global buyer access, the company aims to improve asset remarketing outcomes for sellers while increasing equipment availability for buyers.
Demand for used and fleet equipment remains strong across Canada as construction activity, resource-sector investment and agricultural fleet renewal continue to drive machinery turnover. Industry observers say auction platforms have become increasingly important channels for contractors and agricultural businesses seeking competitively priced equipment.
Euro Auctions said the expanded network will help Canadian sellers reach international buyers while offering domestic buyers broader inventory options through coordinated auctions across the country.
Weaver Auctions specializes in the sale of construction equipment, agricultural machinery, transport assets and industrial equipment, serving customers throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
Euro Auctions operates permanent auction sites across Europe, the Middle East, Australia and North America, providing unreserved auctions and asset remarketing services to a global buyer base. The company said the addition of Weaver Auctions strengthens its ability to connect Western Canadian equipment markets with international demand.
