TORONTO — Massey Hall is set to welcome GRAMMY Award–winning Cuban Canadian musician Alex Cuba to TD Music Hall early next year, marking the celebrated artist’s return to the Toronto stage as he promotes his latest studio album. The performance, scheduled for February 5, 2026, will showcase work from Índole, Cuba’s eleventh album, released earlier this month. Tickets go on sale November 20 at 10 a.m. ET through the TD Music Hall website or the Massey Hall box office.
The announcement adds momentum to a milestone year for Cuba, whose decades-long career has earned him broad international recognition for blending genres, cultures, and eras into a sound uniquely his own. The Smithers, B.C.–based artist has built a reputation for producing vibrant music anchored in themes of optimism, connection, and emotional insight.
According to Massey Hall, the new album reflects a meaningful shift in tone for the artist. The project, titled Índole—a Spanish term referring to intrinsic nature—marks a deliberate expansion into deeper emotional territory. Known for compositions rooted in uplift and warmth, Cuba uses this latest record to explore sorrow as a creative catalyst while still maintaining the melodic sensibility that defines his work.
“Throughout his decades-long, critically triumphant career, Alex Cuba, has masterfully united the worlds of sound and emotion to create timeless, vibrant music rooted in joy and positivity,” the organization stated in its announcement. “On Índole, meaning the true nature of things, Cuba ventures into new emotional territory, embracing sorrow as a creative force. Drawing inspiration from the vast African influence on the colourful tapestry of Latin music, Cuba’s Índole looks both inward and toward his heritage to create a body of work that paves his path back to joy in melody and lyric.”
Cuba’s career has been marked by steady commercial and critical success. With close to 100 million streams worldwide, he has carved out a distinctive place in the global music landscape, gaining recognition for crossing boundaries both stylistically and linguistically. His catalogue reflects an evolving blend of Latin, jazz, folk, and soul influences while consistently resisting traditional categorizations.
His accolades include a GRAMMY Award, four Latin Grammys, and two Canadian JUNO Awards—achievements that underscore his broad international appeal. Cuba’s continued presence on festival stages, concert halls, and collaborative projects has further solidified his profile as one of Canada’s most versatile and innovative musical voices.
The February performance will take place at TD Music Hall, one of Toronto’s newer cultural facilities located within the Allied Music Centre. The 500-capacity venue, opened as part of Massey Hall’s extensive redevelopment, was designed to feature emerging talent alongside established performers. With a focus on flexibility and sound quality, TD Music Hall has quickly become a sought-after destination for touring artists and local musicians alike.
Allied Music Centre describes the venue as “a state-of-the-art 500-capacity performance space that offers a hotbed of activity with a new stage for emerging Canadian talent and international touring artists.” The organization notes that the space also serves as a hub for students and community groups, offering programming aimed at encouraging new generations of performers and music fans.
The broader Allied Music Centre campus includes several purpose-built spaces dedicated to performance, training, and artist development. In addition to Massey Hall’s restored Allan Slaight Auditorium and Muskoka Spirits Basement Bar, the complex features the Allied Music Centre Theatre, the Deane Cameron Recording Studio, and a suite of creative production facilities available to both established musicians and new artists. Designed as a multi-venue ecosystem, the centre has become an anchor for Toronto’s cultural and music economy.
Promoters expect strong demand for Cuba’s upcoming concert, citing both his extensive body of work and the momentum behind Índole. The new album’s thematic departure, combined with Cuba’s reputation for dynamic live performances, is anticipated to draw a wide cross-section of fans.
Tickets can be purchased beginning November 20 at 10 a.m. ET through tdmusichall.com or by calling 416-872-4255.
