TORONTO — Indigenous hip-hop powerhouse Snotty Nose Rez Kids will headline the Tkaronto Music Festival (TKMF) this fall, with a special one-night performance alongside acclaimed Mohawk singer-songwriter Logan Staats. The concert, set for Saturday, November 8, 2025, at TD Music Hall, is presented in partnership with Massey Hall and promises to be a highlight of Toronto’s cultural calendar.
Tickets go on sale Friday, September 26, at 10 a.m. ET through tdmusichall.com and the box office at 416-872-4255.
A Celebration of Indigenous Music
The festival, which has built a reputation as one of Canada’s premiere platforms for Indigenous talent, is making its return with a one-day showcase designed to spotlight powerful voices from Turtle Island and beyond. The evening will be hosted by internationally renowned neo-burlesque dancer Lou Lou la Duchesse de Rière, adding a unique flair to the event.
“TKMF is Canada’s premiere festival series putting the spotlight on Indigenous talent from Turtle Island and across the world. Join us for an unforgettable night of music,” organizers said in a statement.
Rising Stars with Global Reach
Since bursting onto the scene in 2017 with back-to-back debut albums, Snotty Nose Rez Kids — composed of Yung Trybez and Young D — have cemented themselves as a force in Canadian and international hip-hop. Their 2019 album TRAPLINE propelled them to stardom with the hit single Boujee Natives, earning the group multiple awards and their first Juno nomination.
Their reputation for high-energy performances was built through relentless touring, with more than 100 shows across six countries in a single year. Most recently, the group achieved a major milestone by signing with Sony Music, marking a significant step in their evolution.
Blending raw lyricism with stories rooted in Indigenous experience, SNRK (as they are widely known) craft songs that resonate as both protest anthems and celebrations of resilience. Their work combines cultural commentary with humour, ensuring their music remains accessible while confronting some of the heaviest themes facing Indigenous communities today.
Logan Staats Brings His Voice Home
Supporting the headliners is Logan Staats, whose breakthrough came in 2018 when he won The Launch, a reality music competition watched by 1.4 million viewers. His debut single The Lucky Ones became a chart-topper in Canada, claiming the Indigenous Music Award for Best Radio Single.
Staats, who hails from Six Nations of the Grand River, has since chosen to step back from the whirlwind of international touring in order to focus on grounding his artistry in his community. “I wanted to bring my songwriting back to the medicine inside of music, to the medicine inside of reclamation,” Staats said, reflecting on his shift toward homegrown creative work.
TD Music Hall: A Stage for Emerging and International Talent
The concert will be staged at TD Music Hall, part of the recently unveiled Allied Music Centre in Toronto. With a capacity of 500, the venue is designed as a state-of-the-art hub for emerging Canadian artists and international touring performers.
Beyond concerts, TD Music Hall serves as a destination for music students and community groups, offering programming intended to inspire future generations of performers and music enthusiasts.
The Allied Music Centre, which encompasses Massey Hall, the Muskoka Spirits Basement Bar, Allied Music Centre Theatre, and The Deane Cameron Recording Studio, has been positioned as Canada’s cultural ecosystem for live music, artist development, and education.
A Milestone Event
For TKMF, this year’s showcase underscores its role in amplifying Indigenous voices within Canada’s cultural landscape. By featuring a group as internationally recognized as Snotty Nose Rez Kids alongside a celebrated voice like Logan Staats, the festival signals its commitment to elevating Indigenous artistry at the highest levels.
Tickets are expected to be in high demand, given the growing prominence of both artists and the intimate setting of TD Music Hall.
