Toronto — Massey Hall and Culturepreneur Joy Bullen are bringing Canadian singer-songwriter Julian Taylor and his band back to Toronto for a special Black History Month performance on February 28, 2026. The concert, part of the long-running Celebrations & Revelations series, will take place at TD Music Hall, a 500-capacity venue at 178 Victoria Street in the heart of the city’s entertainment district.
Tickets go on sale Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. through tdmusichall.com or by phone at 416-872-4255. The event is a general admission, seated show.
Celebrating Black Excellence
The Celebrations & Revelations series, now in its 10th year, was created by Bullen to showcase and elevate the work of emerging Black artists in Canada. Backed by long-time supporter TD Bank Group, the initiative combines live performance opportunities with mentorship to help artists reach new audiences and build sustainable careers.
“Through live events, mentorship and more, this series highlights exceptional young Black musicians and helps them soar to new heights,” organizers noted. More information on the program is available at joybullen.ca.
For Taylor, the February 2026 concert marks a return to a venue that has played a central role in his recent career milestones.
A Historic Return
Taylor last headlined TD Music Hall in December 2023, performing a sold-out show that went on to inspire his live album Live at TD Music Hall. The project was a first for Allied Music Centre, recorded, mixed and produced entirely on site using its state-of-the-art facilities. The performance was captured in Dolby Atmos, moving directly from the venue’s stage to the Deane Cameron Recording Studio.
Earlier this year, Taylor was named one of the inaugural Artists in Residence at Allied Music Centre, joining fellow musicians Celeigh Cardinal and Sebastian Gaskin in a program designed to foster artistic development.
International Recognition
The Toronto-based singer-songwriter has continued to grow his international profile. Currently touring in support of new music, Taylor has scheduled dates across the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. His live shows have drawn acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
At a London performance last year, BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Jeremy Vine praised Taylor as “an incredible, profound, thoughtful, musical genius” on social media.
Audiences at TD Music Hall in 2026 can expect to hear selections from his latest material, including his single “Dedication,” released earlier this year.
Venue and Cultural Impact
The concert also shines a light on TD Music Hall itself. Opened as part of the Allied Music Centre, the venue has quickly established itself as a destination for emerging talent and international touring acts. The 500-seat space doubles as a hub for music students and community groups, offering programming aimed at nurturing future generations of artists and fans.
Allied Music Centre, home to four distinct venues, has become a cultural ecosystem dedicated to live performance, artist development, education, and community outreach. Alongside TD Music Hall, the complex includes the restored Massey Hall and its Allan Slaight Auditorium, the Muskoka Spirits Basement Bar, the Allied Music Centre Theatre, and professional-grade facilities such as the Deane Cameron Recording Studio and creative edit suites.
Looking Ahead
With backing from both government and private sector sponsors, Toronto’s Allied Music Centre has positioned itself at the centre of Canada’s evolving live music landscape. The Celebrations & Revelations concert offers a blend of cultural commemoration and contemporary artistry, marking Black History Month with one of the country’s most prominent voices in roots and folk music.
As Taylor continues to attract attention internationally, his February performance promises to reaffirm his reputation at home — and highlight the growing role of TD Music Hall as a launchpad for Canadian talent.
Tickets for Julian Taylor and His Band: Celebrations & Revelations go on sale Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m.
