Canadian academic held by Israel military 26h without meals/sleep

The Canadian academic Dr abraham Weizfeld PhD of l'UQAM was held for 26 hours by Israel's military in the Jordan valley just before the election together with 7 others, 2 or whom were internationals from France and Italy. The valley being walked through is slated for annexation according to the campaign promise made by the candidate to be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

During the detention all were blindfolded and had their hands tied for 26 hours without meals or sleep.

The Canada Consular service advised Dr Weizfeld that his conditions of detention were in violation of the Vienna Convention which requires the authority to allow for contact with their Embassy who must advise the detained of this right.

Weizfeld is resident in Nablus, Palestine since February and until July.
