The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. in cooperation with the Cambridge Vineyard Church a non profit organization, is announcing the building of 5 sand courts in the City of Cambridge.

WireService.ca Press Release - Feb 26, 2013 - Cambridge, ON. - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. is one of the fastest growing volleyball clubs in Ontario. Their beach volleyball program in particular has grown 100% in each of the last two years.

This year over 400 youth are anticipated to register in their outdoor beach volleyball programs. The City of Cambridge has no outdoor sand volleyball courts to accommodate this growth.

Thanks to the generosity of Cambridge Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church the Scorpions Club now have a home to build 5 sand courts, 4 especially for beach volleyball and 1 multi-sport sand court.

The courts will be located on the church property at 147 Elgin Street N. in Cambridge. They will be built by C.O. Construction of Cambridge.

Along with the 4 quality volleyball courts there will be a multi sport sand court that will be used this summer to teach the youth how to play Beach Tchoukball an exciting non violent sport. It can also be used for other sand sports like Beach Dodgeball.

Paul Langan, President of the Scorpions states, "The club is taking a massive step forward in building these sand courts for the youth of our community. This announcement means over 2500 youth can have a place to learn and play beach volleyball."

The Head Coach of the Scorpions Volleyball Club Beach Program will be Bronze Medal Olympian and 6 year professional beach player Janet Cobbs-Mulholland.

The Scorpions will begin their sponsorship campaign to help pay for the $30,000. cost of installing the courts. Companies or individuals will be able to purchase the name rights to the whole court complex or can have an individual court named after them.Smaller donations can have their names on the back of our players beach tank tops.
