Press Release: Saskatoon Girl awarded medal in Finland

On Thursday December 6th, a girl from Saskatoon was awarded a medal from the Mayor of Espoo, the second largest city in Finland. Press Release - Dec 8, 2012 - Natalie Gaudet was awarded the medal for her work with youngs startups and entrepreneurs in Finland. The medal was given as an appreciation of her work.

"Coming from Saskatoon and to be given a medal as a foreigner is quite an honor" says Natalie Gaudet recipient of the medal. She has been living in Finland for 5 years but always considers Saskatchewan her home.

Natalie Gaudet has help started a seed accelerator program for startups called Startup Sauna in Finland. Startup Sauna is now the largest program of its kind in the Nordics and Russia helping youngs technology companies succeed. Natalie Gaudet also manages a co-working space for entrepreneurs that also has the name Startup Sauna.

The medal ceremony was held on Finland's Independance day. Every year, the city of Espoo awards individuals in politics, business, arts and sports as an appreciations of their work. This is the first time a Canadian receives the honor.

Natalie Gaudet was raised in Saskatoon, attended L'Ecole Canadienne-Francaise and completed a bachelor at the University of Saskatchewan.
