WireService.ca Press Release: September 16, 2010

After a successful CD release party in Toronto for their full length debut Stare Smile Talk, The MacHams release their second single "Glide" to radio and are set to perform during Toronto's annual Indie Week on October 14, 2010 at the Hideout.

From a musical family in Toronto, this fun-loving Pop Rock band consisting of brothers George, Noel and JP were recently awarded the 2010 TIMA Best Live award (Toronto Independent Music Awards) and HMFF's (Hamilton Music & Film Festival) Best Musical Act award. The group will perform at the TIMA's Home and Native Sound Series Launch Party on October 8th at the Central in Toronto.

"We are excited to play Indie Week because it's where you'll find anything and everything to do with indie music," says George. "We're glad to be part of a celebration where it's still really about the art of music and how the artists are fully responsible for the music being heard, the performances being seen, and the moments created with their fans."

Industry Quotes:

"catchy indie-rock with a little flair and showmanship. JP is actually a talented guitarist, also liked the way he played behind his head. Onwards and upwards for the band." - Lonely Vagabond (Independent reviewer)

"I love The MacHams' song Lucky Number 7!" - Alanna Memme (Orange Lounge Recordings)

"...a band based out of Toronto whose sound borrows from '90s Can-Rock." - Edward Skira (CHARTattack)

"...a sweet mix of sped up Jason Mraz rock with jokester interludes somehow cusps nicely between the serious and the unserious, without lacking any notion of talent." - Kathryn Kyte (TorontoNews24.com)
