British Columbia Ranch, Largest Property For Sale in the Province, is as Big as some Countries

The Alexis Creek Ranch in British Columbia, Canada, is being offered for sale at $23.5 million USD, the largest parcel of land currently for sale in the province. The deeded and leased land for sale covers 350,000 acres, the size of some small countries and one of the largest ranches in Canada. Details and photos of the property are available at

"The historic Alexis Creek Ranch in the beautiful Chilcotin River Valley is a unique offering for British Columbia and for Canada," says Irv Ridd, CEO of Cascadia Pacific Realty, which represents the seller. "With numerous lakes, rivers, streams, woodlands, plains and meadows, whoever buys this working ranch will own a one-of-a-kind trophy property."

Alexis Creek Ranch was founded about 100 years ago, and was previously owned by German prince Richard Wittgenstein. This world-class cattle ranch is only a 30-minute flight from Vancouver, and has two airstrips, including the longest private Class 2 Airport with a commercial hanger in the province. The 5,000-foot paved runway is next to a large fully insulated hangar facility, which even includes two furnished pilots quarters and a well-equipped maintenance shop.

The main residence has seven bedrooms and eight baths, and overlooks the Chilcotin River and the stunning ranch property. A second guest residence has five bedrooms and three baths and two two-bedroom apartments. There are also four employee housing units at ranch headquarters.

Included will be 1000 head of stock cows, Hereford, Black Angus and 50 purebred Black Angus bulls. The ranch has operated with a herd twice this size in the past. A metal corral and cattle handling and branding facility with shipping scales is also part of the facility. Most of the water on the ranch comes from the Chilcotin River, flowing with snow and glacial melt from the Coast Range Mountains. Extensive pivot irrigation systems have been installed. Alexis Creek features hundreds of miles of roads and 1,800 irrigated acres in crop production.
