Glinda Girls Announce 'Pitchfest' National Finalists

Top five Pitchfest finalists selected to present their big business idea at The Business of Bliss event October 5 in Calgary

Calgary, Alberta (September 15, 2009) - Hard work and fab-u-bliss ideas have paid off for five hopeful Canadian entrepreneurs who participated in the Are You the Next Glinda Girl?¯ Pitchfest, a national contest held by Glinda Girls Inc., a Calgary-based event producer and e-boutique of beauty and lifestyle brands and services, in search of the next Glinda Girl and big business idea.

The Pitchfest submission review panel included Shauna MacDonald, Principal and Founder of Brookline Public Relations, Inc. (brooklinepr.com); Karen Stewart, President and CEO of Fairway Divorce Solutions (fairwaydivorce.com); and Christie Schultz, Founder & CEO, Entrepreneurial Moms International (entrepreneurialmoms.org). They selected the following five finalists from twenty semi-finalists:

1. Jane Walter, president of organicKidz, a family-owned Canadian company that manufactures safe and trendy stainless steal baby bottles;
2. Lara Presber, designer and creator of The Lara Presber Creative Corporation, providing contemporary women's wear that is designed and produced in Canada;
3. Kaytie Stack, owner of All Season K9 Awareness Centre, presenting dog owners with a focused, innovative exercise program using a treadmill and a large off leash area;
4. Colleen Pound, founder of Fleur Feminine, Canada’s first designer label and e-tailer for women sizes 12 and up; and
5. Denise Lauzon, esthetician and creator of Metamorphosis, a line of skin care products developed for spa treatments and created with natures finest botanicals.

These finalists will be presenting their big business idea to a panel of Glinda Girl celebrity judges at The Business of Blissa full-day inspirational speaker series taking place on Monday, October 5 at the TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary.
